Washington, DC – Leading agricultural trade consulting firm DTB AgriTrade today announced that Krista Dickson has joined the firm as a Partner, effective October 2025.
Krista has held senior positions at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), where she directed major agricultural trade initiatives and market access efforts. She oversaw implementation of the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard and managed the Country of Origin Labeling program. At USTR, she negotiated with the EU and UK on sanitary and phytosanitary issues, securing agreements that protected U.S. exports. As USDA’s lead for WTO compliance, she played a central role in landmark trade cases with China, India, Indonesia, and Canada that safeguarded billions in agricultural exports.
Earlier in her career with the Foreign Agricultural Service, Krista served as a USDA delegate to the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee, Codex Alimentarius, and the World Health Organization and was a key driver of TBT negotiations for both the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement. She also managed grant funding to support foreign market development and collaborated with trade groups to develop export marketing strategies. Before entering public service, Krista gained hands-on industry experience as an importer of specialty retail products, and a marketing manager for a national restaurant chain and a foodservice brokerage.
“I am thrilled to join DTB AgriTrade at such an exciting time in the world trade landscape,” said Krista Dickson. “DTB’s commitment to connecting global agriculture with innovative trade solutions resonates deeply with my own passion for supporting farmers, exporters, and stakeholders. I look forward to helping strengthen partnerships and expand opportunities in agricultural trade worldwide.”
DTB AgriTrade LLP was founded in 2000 to provide legal, strategic, and tactical advice to producers, exporters, and importers competing in global food and agriculture markets. Since its founding, the DTB team has been involved in many headline-grabbing World Trade Organization (WTO) trade disputes, including the beef hormone and biotechnology cases between the U.S. and the European Union, and the U.S. cases against farm subsidies and market access barriers in China, as well as negotiations in virtually every trade agreement involving agriculture. Beyond the headlines, DTB has helped its clients solve, mitigate, and fight a multitude of policies that would increase trade uncertainty and reduce income for farmers and companies that rely on global markets.
Please join us in welcoming Krista Dickson to DTB AgriTrade. Her leadership, vision, and seasoned approach to agricultural trade will be instrumental in our next phase of growth and innovation.
