Krista Dickson, Partner

Krista Dickson joined DTB AgriTrade in October 2025 after working for nearly 25 years on agricultural trade issues for the U.S. government. She has held senior positions at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), where she directed major agricultural trade initiatives and market access efforts. She oversaw implementation of the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard and managed the Country of Origin Labeling program.
At USTR, she negotiated with the EU and UK on sanitary and phytosanitary issues, securing agreements that protected U.S. exports. As USDA’s lead for WTO compliance, she played a central role in landmark trade cases with China, India, Indonesia, and Canada that safeguarded billions in agricultural exports.
Earlier in her career with the Foreign Agricultural Service, Krista served as a USDA delegate to the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee, Codex Alimentarius, and the World Health Organization and was a key driver of TBT negotiations for both the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement. She also managed grant funding to support foreign market development and collaborated with trade groups to develop export marketing strategies.
Before entering public service, Krista gained hands-on industry experience as an importer of specialty retail products, and a marketing manager for a national restaurant chain and a foodservice brokerage. She holds a B.A. in foreign policy and history from Longwood University.
